A Message from our Principal
DEACON BRYAN OTT
Cathedral Parish School has a proud tradition that dates back over 100 years to our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph. Following in the footsteps and embodying the spirituality of the faithful worker St. Joseph, the Sisters came to Florida following the Civil War to teach the children of recently freed slaves. Built upon the tradition of the Sisters, we seek to help our students recognize themselves as the beautiful children of God that they are, and we take joy in helping them to develop their God-given gifts and put them to use in the service of God and others. We strive for academic excellence in a Christ-centered culture of continuous improvement and service to others that empowers our students to face the challenges of the future and facilitates intellectual, spiritual, physical, social, and emotional growth.
All are welcome at the Cathedral Parish School. With the assistance of scholarship programs like the Step-Up-for-Students program, a Catholic education is now affordable for families of all incomes. We are proud to announce the hiring of our first ESE Coordinator who will work cooperatively with the teachers of all grade levels to make sure each student has the opportunity to be successful within and outside of the classroom. We offer a wealth of enrichment opportunities for each of our students. We promote academic rigor and provide an honors-bound curriculum. We challenge our students to rise up and discover and become the very best version of themselves. Over the years, our graduates have proven to be extremely well-prepared for high school and have gone on to great things after leaving CPS.
As a parent of three current or former CPS students, it has been a tremendous blessing to be a part of the CPS family. One of the most special things about this community is that sense of family that exists between students, parents, and teachers. We are so very grateful that so many of our families continue to stay connected to the school long after their youngest children have graduated, and for all who contribute to make this the wonderful Christian community that it is.
Big things are happening at CPS—we hope you will be a part of them!
Blessings to you all,
Deacon Bryan Ott,
