SPANISH CURRICULUM

Our Spanish curriculum commences in Kindergarden and continues thru 8th Grade.  Early adoption of a second language at an early age is essential for language learning.  

KINDERGARTEN thru 2ND GRADE

  • Greetings, farewells, appropriate vocabulary (colors, months and days of the year, etc.), sign of the cross, Glory Be, alphabet, cultural activities, holidays and customs.

3RD GRADE thru 5TH GRADE

  • Indefinite and definite articles, gender of nouns, number of nouns, enhance vocabulary, placement of adjectives, answering simple questions, tell time, count to 100, introductions, use of verb to be, short dialogues and conversations, Hail Mary, Our Father, traditions and customs, locate and identify Spanish-speaking countries.

6TH GRADE thru 8TH GRADE

  • Greetings and farewell expressions, enhance vocabulary, subject pronouns, conjugation of regular and irregular verbs, recognize cognates, count and apply to 1,000, contractions, adjectives, adverbs, negative and affirmative statements, question words, write letters, paragrpahs, emails, dialogs, indirect and object pronouns, aspects of culture, various foods, music, and identification of Spanish speaking countries and their flags
