Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Sam moved to St. Augustine in 2008 to attend Flagler College, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education with ESOL and Reading endorsements. After graduating, she spent six years teaching students in grades K–6.

Sam and her husband, Chris, have three children who all attend Cathedral Parish School. Sam also serves as the Chapter Administrator for Safe Families for Children of Northeast Florida, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening families in the community.

Outside of school, Sam enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, biking, walking her dog Ollie, reading, writing, crafting, and cheering on her kids at their games.

Sam is excited to bring her love of children, literacy, and learning to the CPS library. She hopes to create a welcoming space where students are excited to discover new books, grow as readers, explore their interests, and develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.

 

Favorites:

Book: Don't have a favorite but anything lighthearted or mystery. Favorite picture books are The Giving Tree and Love You Forever. 

Movie: Elf
