Krista Speidel

VPK Teacher & Learning Support

Biography

Krista received a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Flagler College. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Education with a major in Early Childhood Education from St. John’s University and a Master of Science in Education with a major in Educational Leadership from Brooklyn College. Krista taught Kindergarten for five years in a Catholic school in the Diocese of Brooklyn and then served as Assistant Principal for two years before welcoming her first child. She has also substitute taught in every grade from Pre-K through 8th grade. Krista joined Cathedral Parish School as a VPK teacher in 2023.

Krista has five wonderful children. Four of whom currently attend Cathedral Parish School, while her oldest is a student at St. Joseph Academy and a CPS graduate. Outside of the classroom, Krista enjoys volunteering in the community and coaching her son’s flag football team. She is honored to be part of the CPS family and to help instill a love of learning and faith in her students.

Krista has a deep love for teaching young children and feels called to help them grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically. Her Catholic faith plays a central role in both her personal life and her teaching. As a product of Catholic education herself—from elementary school through graduate school—she is especially grateful to once again be part of a Catholic school community.
