Laura Hinds

Assistant Principal

Biography

Laura Hinds graduated with her Master’s Degree in English/Language Arts Education from the University of Florida in 1996.  She went on to be a Language Arts and Critical Thinking teacher for 17 years. She was selected as the Gamble Rogers Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2004 and earned her National Board Certification for English/Language Arts in 2006. She then spent two years as a Peer Evaluator for St. Johns County Schools during which time she observed, evaluated, and coached teachers in grades K-12 using the Marzano Framework.  Then, she served an Instructional Literacy Coach for Murray Middle School for four years. After that, Laura was a Gifted Consultative Teacher for Elementary and Middle Schools across her district for three years   Laura is passionate about teaching and learning.  She is currently a consultant for Nuts and Bolts Symposiums for Teachers.

Laura is married and has one son.  She is happiest when spending time with family and friends.  She also enjoys reading, paddle boarding, traveling, and watching Gator football.

Favorites: Spending time with friends and family.

Book: I love many different types of books, but I like mysteries the most. 

Movie: I love all kinds of movies.

Dessert: Chocolate fudge brownies

Color: Purple

Season: Summer

Sports: Paddleboarding, swimming, rowing, and Gator football.

Hobbies: Reading, paddleboarding, swimming, and biking.
