Biography
Lisa Sette earned a B.S. in Education from the University of Connecticut and a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport (Florida Certification: Elementary Education K-6). She is currently teaching second grade at Cathedral Parish School. Mrs. Sette utilizes an interdisciplinary and thematic approach to learning, creating exciting units to keep her students engaged. A strong advocate of hands-on, inquiry-based learning, she involves her students in a variety of STEM based lessons to teach concepts through investigation, discovery and active collaboration. Her professional interests focus on the Six Traits of Writing program to teach writing through the curriculum, using technology in the classroom with educational websites and Smart-board lessons. Mrs. Sette’s goal is to inspire children to be lifelong learners and embrace a love for reading. Her current projects include organization of class visits to the convent of The Sisters of Saint Joseph and preparing her students for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion.
In addition, Mrs. Sette serves on The Catholic Schools Week Committee, Red Ribbon Committee, and May Crowning Committee. She also served as chairperson for School Improvement Committee.
