TOUCHING SAFETY PROGRAM

Teaching our children about personal safety is one of the most challenging jobs that parents face.  Parents are the primary educators of their children.  This right of parents to educate their children, particularly in the area of morals, values and human sexuality, is recognized by the Church as “an educational duty.”  In this effort, the Church provides for collaboration between parents and competent educators.  The role of teachers is to assist and complete the work of the parents.

The “Touching Safety” program is a tool designed to assist parents and teachers in giving our children the skills they need to develop healthy boundaries with regard to personal safety.

This program is provided to us by the Diocese of St. Augustine, approved by Bishop Estevez, and is part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for our children.

Parents are strongly encouraged to review the information offered by the Diocese.  We ask that you discuss these topics with your children and prepare yourself to answer any questions they may have.
